Mantralayam temple is Situated in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh in india, Mantralayam is a small and peaceful town situated on the banks of the River Tungabhadra, and gets thousands of devotees from all over the country.

Shri Raghavendra Swamy is said to have performed many miracles during his lifetime and has a large following even today. A unique feature of this place is that Guru Raghavendra swamy himself selected the village for his Brindavana Pravesha and even the place for his Samaadhi. Legends glorify this sacred soil as the land where child devotee Prahlada performed yagna, and it is believed that Sri Raghavendra was himself Prahlada in his previous birth.

The Samadhi of Sri Raghavendra Swamy is more popularly called as the Brindavan. There is a walkway that leads to the temple. Near the entrance of the temple is located a small temple dedicated to Manchalamma another form of Goddess Parvati. After a darshan of Manchalamma, you enter the sanctum sanctorum to have a splendid darshan of the Samadhi of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.

Mantralayam temple Darshan Timings

Mantralayam temple is open between 6 am to 2 pm . It closes from 2 pm to 4 pm and reopens from 4 pm to 9 pm, Entry to the temple is free. Mantralayam Temple Darshan usually takes about an hour, but can go up to 2 -3 hours on special occasions. The male devotees who want to perform Pooja themselves have to wear dhoti. While male devotees paying normal visit have to remove their shirt and female devotees have to wear Sarees or other traditional cloths.

Accommodation is provided by the Mutt near the temple and mantralayam room booking charges vary between Rs. 200 to Rs. 1000 per day (online booking not available yet). The temple also offers free lunch and dinner and quality is decent.
