Alampur Jogulamba temple is in Alampur, Gadwal district, Telangana. Jogulamba is the 5th shakti peetham among the asthadasa (eighteen) shakthi peetham. Jogulamba and Bala Brahmeshwara are the principal dieties in the Jogulamba Temple.

Bala Brahmeswara Swamy and Jogulamba Devi are the principal dieties in the Alampur Jogulamba temple. The temple is surrounded by the Nallamala hills. Alampur is situated on the left bank of the Tungabhadra river.

The Jogulamba is also known as Yogamba temple is regarded as a Shakti Peetha where Sati Devi’s upper teeth fell. The mythology of Daksha yaganam and Sati’s self immolation is the story of origin of Shakti Peethas.

Shakti Peethas are shrines which are the most divine seats of the Mother Goddess. The body parts of Sati Devi has fallen in these places, when Lord Shiva carried it and wandered throughout Aryavartha in sorrow. These places where the Sati Devi body parts fell are the Sakthi Peethas. There are 51 Shakti Peeth linking to he 51 alphabets in Sanskrit.

The Alampur Jogulamba Temple Sacredness is mentioned in the Skanda Purana. It is said that Lord Brahma performed a strict penance for Lord Siva. Lord Siva appeared before him and blessed him with the powers of creation. Therefore, the name Brahmeswara was come.
