There are many Ancient and Sacred famous temples located in Uttar Pradesh. From ancient times these temples have provided the healing touch to the distressed devotees. Uttar Pradesh is the birthplace of two of the most popular deities of Hinduism, Lord Krishna and Lord Rama.

Varanasi city in Uttar Pradesh is famous for its numerous ghats, alleys and temples. The most notable visiting places in Varanasi is Kashi Vishwanath temple and Sankat Mochan Temple. Kashi Vishwanath Temple is located in a narrow alley and is flocked by scores every day. Sankat Mochan temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Bharat Mata Mandir in Varanasi also attracts a lot of visitors

The most notable temples in Uttar Pradesh are located in Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. The main temple is known as Krishna Janam-bhoomi.  It is popularly believed that the temple is built at the same site where Lord Krishna was born. The temple at Vrindavan and Nandgaon are worth visiting.
