Indian state of Himachal Pradesh is an important tourist destination located in the northern region of India which is called as land of God There are so many temples in the state of Himachal Pradesh that are countless and all of them have its own importance connected with some kind of festival throughout the year. Most of the temples in Himachal Pradesh have legends dating back to centuries, some are as old as mankind itself.

Shringi Rishi:
Shringi Rishi temple of Himachal Pradesh is situated in Kullu district at very chilling height of about 14000 feet and is popular known as ‘Skerin’.
Badol Devi Temple:
The Badol Devi Temple of Himachal Pradesh is located in Badol village of Bilaspur. It is believed that one day, an old villager Bhura saw that his cow had shed her milk on this particular place.
Naras Devi Temple:
Himachal Pradesh has another famous temple called Naras Devi temple located on a hilltop at Baroha of Bilaspur district 2 km away from Naras village. Naras Devi has a history of more than 400 years old built by King Kalyan Chand.
Triloknath Shiva Temple:
In this Triloknath Shiva Temple of Himachal Pradesh deity lord Shiva was depicted as lord of the three worlds having five faces Panchvakhra expressing his five aspects. This Triloknath Shiva Temple is constructed in Nagari style with a tiled roof. The Triloknath Shiva Temple sculpted with stones shrines at the centre of a group by giving an overlook of river as a great view.
Jwalaji Temple:
Jwalaji Temple of Himachal Pradesh state is one of famous piligrimage spot in India located at south of Kangra. The Jwalaji Temple is described as ‘the flaming temple’ that comprises 9 permanent flames dedicated to nine different forms of Goddess. Most of the devotees visit this temple to attend Aarti session which is performed five times in a day.
Baijnath Temple:
Baijnath Temple of Himachal Pradesh is located at the roadside on the Mandi-Palampur road earlier known as Kirangama but later the name was changed when deity Lord Shiva enshrined in this temple in his form of vaidyanath the lord of Physicians. Baijnath Temple was built in Nagari style of architecture. The Siva Lingam enshrined in this Baijnath Temple is one of the famous 12 Jyotirlingas in India.
Jwalamukhi Temple:
The Jwalamukhi temple in Himachal Pradesh is located at Kali dhar, With 3 feet deep pathway all around inside is a square pit. The flames emit from the middle of the rock where there is crack through which a gas is emitted and the priest keeps applying the flame to the gas – which is seen as a blessing of the deity. Jwalamukhi temple has no idol enshrined to offer puja but the release of the gas is believed to be a manifestation of the goddess Jwalaji. Jwalamukhi temple is said to be the spot where the half-burnt tongue of Sati fell, hence the burning flames or ‘tongues’ of fire.
Chamunda Mata Temple:
Chamunda Mata Temple enshrined with deity Goddess Chamunda Devi. This temple of Chamunda Mata is located at 20 km. from Kangra. Chamunda Mata Temple has a beautiful bathing ghat called Chamund Nandikeshwar Dham with a small temple across the bridge joining the ghat. Chamunda Mata Temple temple is also known for the Ayurvedic dispensary, library and Sanskrit college. The temple is believed to have formed by the combination of two demons, Chanda and Munda.
Syamakall Temple:
Syamakall Temple of Himachal Pradesh is also known as the Tarna Devi Temple located on the Tarna Hill. Raja Syama Sen built the temple in the 17th century after a particularly trying time when the goddess gave him success.
