Moti Dungri is a hindu Temple which is positioned on a small hill and dedicated to Lord Ganesh. The Moti Dungri Temple is situated at top of the Moti Dungri Hill and is surrounded by the fort of Moti Dungri in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple was constructed by Seth Jai Ram Paliwal in the 18th Century to seek blessings of lord Ganesh before every special Occasion.

Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Jaipur. Tourists from different parts of the country come every day to seek blessings and worship lord Ganesh.

 

In this Temple Lord Ganesh is carved out of stone and is known for its amazing lattice work on marble. We can see some mythological images that offer a splendid view for art lovers. Moti Dungri temple was built in 1761 under supervision of seth jai ram palliwal who was accompanying Maharaja Madho Sinsh 1, From Udaipur.  It was brought to Udaipur from Gujarat. This temple was built under Pallival’s Supervision.

Ganesh Chaturthi Festival is the main festival celebrated in this temple  making it a famous religious and tourist spot in the pink city.  This palace is an imitation of a famous Scottish castle.

Whether it is Ganesh Chaturthi or Paush Bada, Moti Dungri temple is always bustling with preparations. A must visit for those who want to unfold the rich history behind the built.

The trunk of the sindoor coloured ganesh icon is rightwards. Devotees who visit Moti Dungri temple offer laddo sweets. A fair is organized every Wednesday in the temple complex.

Moti Dungri ganesh temple is 6-km distant from Jaipur. Jaipur International Airport is the nearest airport and the Gandhi Nagar is the nearest railway station.

The layout and structure of Moti Dungri is built in the Nagara style and is based on the model of Scottish castle. There are 3 entrance gates and few steps at the front. This temple was built using lime stone and marble and construction work was completed in 4 months.

There is a lingam (icon of the god Shiva) in Moti Dungri temple complex, which open to visitors once a year on Mahashivratri, the festival of lord Shiva.  The Birla Mandir shrine dedicated to the deities Lakshmi Narayan is situated south of Ganesha temple.

Moti Dungri ganesh temple is the centre of attraction on festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Krishna Janamasthami, Annakut and Paush Bada. Scholars and architects come here to have flavour of rich cultural heritage of city. Thousands of devotees participate in the preparation of festivities and pay their regards to Lord Ganesha.

A fair is organized every Wednesday. The deities are worshipped according to the Gaudiya Vaishnavism (Chaitanya Vaishnavism or Hare Krishna) tradition.

7 Dharshans are arranged in a day and there are different set of prayers (bhajans) for every adorned appearance of the deity.
