Goddess Kalratri Matha is the seventh incarnation of Goddess Durga worshipped on the seventh day during Dussera Navrathri festival. Kalratri Matha in her fearlessness appearance is as dark as night with bountiful unlocked hair with a necklace flashing lightening in her neck and has three eyes that shine bright and terrible flames emanate from her breath. Goddess Kalratri Matha has four hands holding a sharp sword and a burning torch and with booning mudras for granting blessings to her devotees. Kalratri Matha rides on a Donkey as her vehicle. Kalratri Matha is dressed in Blue, Red and White color sarees.

Kalratri Matha is considered as Shubhamkari, as she makes her devotees fearless. This form of Goddess Durga is a violent form. Kalaratri Matha is the one of the fiercest forms of Durga and her appearance itself evokes fear. This form of Goddess is believed to be the destroyer of all demon entities. The name Kalaratri means the One who is “the Death of Kaal” where  Kaal is dedicated as time & death. Kalaratri is the one who destroys ignorance and removes darkness. She blesses her devotees with calm and courage.

Goddess Kalratri Matha has killed Raktabeej who was a demon who could multiply from every drop of his blood which fell on the ground. The Goddess Kaalratri killed him by licking the blood before it could reach the ground and killed him.

By remembering Kalratri Matha, ghosts ran away. If any negative effect is arising due to a planets than by worshiping on this day bad effects vanishes.
